Our Goal in Anger Management is to help Children and Adults

• To become more aware of when they are becoming angry in the early stages so that they have some choices over how they want to handle their feelings
• To learn the difference between emotions and behaviors
• To determine whether in fact it is anger they are really feeling and if they really need to be angry
• To learn strategies and techniques such as Time Outs in order to keep themselves and others safe
• To learn alternatives to physical and verbal aggression and to learn to express themselves in more positive and assertive ways
• To learn that anger can also be a motivator for change
• To learn to identify personal triggers that lead to anger
• To understand how they learned their current anger style and to choose new methods to express themselves
• To learn how to manage other people's anger
• To build self esteem
• To understand and learn how to deal with authority

? Children will learn how to understand their anger and how to manage it

? Effective strategies and techniques will be taught and practiced throughout the program

? They will learn positive problem solving skills

? Group participants will learn how to increase impulse control

? Children will learn how to understand and have empathy for themselves and others

? They will learn to develop pro-social attitudes

? The program intends to give children insight into themselves and assist them to examine the motivation underlying their behaviors.
